Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for some instructions to reset a Droid back to default so it can do the system updates that it needs too. When the phone was rooted no backup was made.
Is there a way to get the phone back to factory settings?

If possible please leave instructions in the manor of... Down load x, copy x to X folder or root of SD card. Please note your dealing with someone that does not know all the acronyms.

Thanks guys/gals!

Welcome to the forum, if the sole purpose of your needs is to get up to date with the android operating system version i would suggest download a custom rom that is already updated. Since many roms are on GingerBread these day and i found it never to be stable i recommend a Froyo rom which will be on android version 2.2.2
That is the most updated official software version ever released for the Droid 1. See link on my signature for my choice of custom Rom that is updated, stable and offers many more features.
