Overclock widget vs rom

I have bugless beast 6.2.1 and running 2.2.1 froyo. My question is what would save more battery life the rom or the widget? If i turn off the cpu in the rom it runs just as nice on the widget. Which one saves more battery life?

I've been wondering this for a while too. I haven't used setcpu in a while cuz I use liquids settings. They seem to be about the same to me
