OK, who's planning on upgrading to the Droid X

All over it. Can't wait. Droid X here I come. Been sitting on my wife's upgrade in anticipation for this. Also have another upgrade (Aug '10) waiting in the wings, just in case something better than the X pops up!!

Question is though: Since I'm hearing so many haters of "Blur," if a root comes, won't we be able to do away with Blur if we so choose?

I am definitely considering buyin the Droid X. My main concern is that the touch screen isn't going to be like Omnia (yes.. I said a bad bad word in an awesome site.. forgive me!) The screen looks awesome, definitely looks snappy and I'm drooling at the thought of a rooted X. :)
What the Omnia 2? Cuz the Omnia 1 was some garbage. Resistive screens..boooo. I assume the Omnia 2 has capacitive.

I had the Omnia 1. Had it hacked to all hell (<3 Bgill) but it still worked like a pos. The moment I saw the droid, I ended up buying it retail cause I couldn't stand having the omnia another minute.

I had fully intended on it until it was announced it was a 4.3" and not a 4.1" like originally thought. It is going to be just a touch too big to handle comfortably with one hand. May change my mind when I can actually get one in hand. But right now my attention is towards the Samsung Galaxy.

And a side note. I am sure there is not gonna be a shortage of Incredibles for very long once pre-orders start for the X. I can see alot of canceled orders for the DI.

That's the plan right now. I'm currently eligible for an upgrade, but my new every two isn't till mid August so I will wait to save the $50. By then though, they may have an even better phone coming out.

I thought vz allows you to upgrade a couple months early if you have the 2 yr plan...

You can. I can upgrade now...I've been able to for a while now. (In fact I bought the Droid about a month ago and returned it) But, if I wait until Aug. 18 they will give me an extra $50 off my new phone. My upgrades got all messed up when my old phone broke before I was eligible for an upgrade. My dh had one available so he let me use his. I don't know how it all worked out, but I have been eligible for an upgrade for a while, my new every two is Aug. 18 but my contract end date isn't until Dec. 2011.

As long as they don't release it with a less than 8mp camera I'll be picking this up.

well they were saying and the test shots with it, leave something to be desired. I mean they are better then the droids, but the way they were saying you have to do to take a picture is kinda weird, and from the testers say alot of the time it shakes the phone so it will come out alittle blurry, so i'm hoping that is one thing that they fixed on it.

My wife will be upgrading her BB Curve to the Droid-X. 1 second after it arrives, she will be downgrading to the Droid and I will be upgrading to the Droid X.

Month 20 of my NE2 hits August 18th (none of the local stores will budge as far as extending the 2 years and letting me upgrade early :icon_evil:).

If this is still the best phone at that time, I'm getting a Droid X. I really like the larger screen, since half of my phone usage will be e-book reading and web surfing. I very rarely make phone calls, so the other half is txt messaging.

I would love to be able to upgrade to the Droid X...but unfortunately I just got my Droid at the end of January...so I dont get an upgrade for another year and a half pretty much.

My family member is going to give me their upgrade, and I'll be giving them my Droid. However, if it is true that it's just running with a Snapdragon and not TI, then I may just pick up the Incredible for it's Sense UI, granted it's not discontinued.

Couldn't you just use an annual upgrade? You probably could. That's how I got my Droid. In fact, I was about a month out from my annual upgrade when the Droid was released way back when. I called Verizon about 6 times over the course of a couple days to get them to bump me up. Finally, on that sixth and final try, I was able to get the rep to bump it up for me. I pretty much had to kill her with kindness and be extremely nice. May work for you, if you can't manage to do an annual upgrade.

definitely planning on upgrading but quick question. Do you already have to have a line in order to preorder (unassuming they do a preorder) as in, if i am adding a new line to a family plan, can i do that at the same time i preorder? or will i have to add the line without a phone and then preorder?
