Official GB root status

so what's the word on the official ota GB being rooted. Cause I'm not downloading it til someone figures out how to root it. I heard that the sbf was released so I thought maybe that meant someone had rooted it

If you want to be rooted on gingerbread, then install the team black hat rooted two part install. As far as being able to root the OTA, there arent any ways currently available and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it never gets cracked. P3Droid has however made a work around which is extremely nice.

What's this work around. What's it do. And is it true about the GB sbf. I think I read about it on P3's twitter

Check my link above Official DX Gingerbread 2.3.3 (4.5.596) Release Thread - Something for everyone.

It is true that a GB SBF (DROIDX Gingerbread (4.5.596) SBF File Released - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog) just got released, but it is the non-rooted OTA. To get the rooted GB you have to SBF back to Froyo then install the two part rooted GB. I figure if you are willing to SBF, you might as well SBF to Froyo, then install rooted GB.

So you are running Liberty? What version, you know they have a Liberty GB that is really stable and is so smooth. I'm up to version v0.7.

Yea I know I started running the GB Leak the day it first was released and rooted. But 2weeks ago went back to Froyo so I could ply around with some more roms I hadn't had the chance to yet before I had flashed GB. And I was also hoping they would find root for the final ota version of GB. Which by the way what are the differences between the final leaked version and the ota version?
