In Astro search for LOST.DIR on the SD Card, that's the file where your MAC moved the deleted files , see how much space it takes .
Put your MAC to sleep , I think he really hates your Droid

Been there done that.

I created a plan C and that was in ASTRO delete the folder ".trashes"

This was like 7 GB.

BUT!!

I still tried dragging the file over to my SD card, and what do you know, the same error message:
"The item “droidlifefroyo-BS-20100608-0521” can’t be copied because there isn’t enough free space."

First of all I like my mac a lot and i think it gets jealous of my love for my droid though so thats one of the problems.

Second of all The LOST.DIR file didnt do much only about 20 MB.

In a van by the River......
Im trying to figure out what would be causing so much space.

Earlier today i made a backup by copying all the contents in the SD card and putting it in a folder for droid backups. It said there was 11 gb. Its a 16 gb card. explain please :)

its actually not quite 16 there its closer to 15.1 gig total space.

so if i read this correctly you backed up your whole SD and it said 11 gig .... what about hidden folders did you include those?
