Can you explain how it represents the year/month/day?

Okay well I deleted a few that were from a LONG time ago, and I look at my available space, and that is shrinking, yet my total space remains the same!

Think of it this way...when you analyze 20100412
2010 obviously pops up as the year
12 cannot be the month because December hasn't passed
that leaves 04 as April
12 being the day
No problem about your age lol, it's all good.

Are you deleting files using your MAC , if so then mount your phone on your MAC and go to Trash Can and select Empty Trash Can , it'll hold the files on the SD card hidden till you gonna empty the Trash Can

Haha I understand that part now, and I deleted quite a few old backups that had a ton of MB.
I went back and looked at my AVAILABLE memory and the number went from 1.5 to 1.22 to 1.16. these are all in MB by the way.

All this is happening while the TOTAL memory stays at 14.93

Just try copying the file it shouldn't be a problem if you deleted " a lot" like you say

Did you had your phone mounted to your computer and USB storage turned on while you emptied the trash ? You can also install Astro File manager from the Market on your phone , and access the SD Card with your phone and delete items from there .

Its a major pain to delete from ASTRO. I already have had it for other app installations. but it was mounted.

Time to move onto Plan B.

Now what is Plan B

Plan B is just mount your phone to the computer and delete files there.
