No Calendar Notifications

I'm assuming that when I downloaded the GoLauncher program my email stopped notifying me of emails. I think I used to see some indication on the icon that I had new emails. Also I have to say the weather applet is much much better than the legacy weather program that came with the phone. Besides that the original app provided erroneous temperatures for nearby Pueblo, Colorado on a 24/7 regime. It also added two odd "cities" (?) that I did not wish to have in the applet and that I didn't think existed.
