Nexus 1 Spec Sheet

You are SO wrong. I wish people would stop using this as a theory before thinking about it.

1) Verizon is NOT GOING to have the Nexus in the stores - Google will be selling ALL of them.

2) Verizon makes it's money off the plans - the Nexus plan is the same as the Droid plan - they couldn't care less.

Basically you're saying the opposite of what's true - since they have the Droid in the stores they would rather be promoting the Droid since they have no way to promote the Nexus.

You will let the timing of 2.1 determine what phone to get? Really?

I have another upgrade comming soon. If droid doesn't have 2.1 by the time verizon gets the nex i might switch.

And there is the explanation for the delay in the 2.1 Droid Upgrade.

If 2.1 is out first, there won't be as big of a draw for the N1. If they give the N1 a couple solid weeks of sales before the 2.1 upgrade on the Droid, I bet they'll push a lot more units.

Take it easy, "Captain Sensitive Pants"!

OK, so they want the early termination and contract renewal dollars from people switching to the N1 instead of staying with the Droid.

They have sold 2.5M Droids. How many people are going to pay $550 for a Nexus from Google to replace the Droid? 10?

Let's use come common sense.

I don't use the hardware keyboard and I love to have the latest technology. There are a few reasons I will not be switching. 1) The Droid is built like a brick. I dropped it the other day on hard tile floor from about 4.5ft off the ground and not a scratch on it! 2) I can overclock the Droid over 1GHz. 3) By the time N1 drops on Verizon it will be 2.5 months old since it was out on T-Mobile since 1/06 so it's almost in the 3-6 month window of something newer and better coming out.
Show me something that makes the Droid look like an easy bake oven and I'll gladly pay retail for it but the N1 does not fit that mold IMO.

I don't think many people would pay an ETF and full retail for the N1.....

That would not be the smartest thing to do.

Plus the Motorola Droid is the best Android device out right now : )

Luckily for me i have 3 phones on my plan. My droid, wifes multimedia phone and my mothers phone. I always pass down my phone to my wife or mother and every now and then get a good deal on a texting phone off ebay (thats what they do most of) So, i get all three upgrades. I have spaced them apart within two years. I have a upgrade due now and one again in october. I always upgrade even if i don't need the phone. It's always good to have a good back up. Nexus 1? No Incredible? Maybe DROID 2? OH YEAH!!! :)

I'll be sticking to my Droid. It is a man's phone. :-D

The call quality and speaker on this thing is the best I've heard on a mobile phone.

i like that the droid has a keyboard, but its not a very good keyboard. sure i got used to it and can type pretty fast with no errors, but what was the point of a huge d-pad that barely gets any use.

Now i've read a little bit around the forums and what i've read is that this "Incredible" is taking over for the "Droid Eris" Now my question is where does this put the N1 as far as performance goes and over all phone. The way I see it right now is the
Droid #1
Eris # 2
now where does the N1 rate? better then the Droid? just because its already running 2.1 and has a faster processor? When this Incredible comes out wheres that going to be rated next to the Droid and N1. Just wondering what others think. I hope this makes sence I was in a hurry typing on break at work. cant get off this site.. lol

The D-Pad is a complete waste.

As far as the incredible I know nothing about it - just that if you call something incredible it will probably suck.

And another thing I saw on a review was that the Incredible will be clocked down to 7XX mhz instead of 1mhz. why would they do that? I dont know to much about tech stuff just doesnt make sence to me.
