New Update info and Verizon's answer

I just got back from Verizon and the update info from a good friend of mine there said that the new updates are coming to the phones by the end of the month. Droid X got there's yesterday and I can confirm this from my sister. He also said that the phones coming in that have the hacked version installed will not be able to be replaced with a replacement phone. He also said that Verizon is seeing more rooted phones and making changes to there warranty policy against this as well. Looks like I will be waiting till the end of the month to see what the next step is for me.

Well hello people, un-root your phones before you bring them back in to Verizon

I will say after installing watchdog and juice defender I haven't had but 1 reboot since Tuesday. I don't know if that is what's helping but it's alot better than two to four a day.

I have had less since installing juice defender, I think it is because it closes data connections. High data apps seems to make it worse, too.

Ask your friend about when we get GB? That was suppose to hit us by the end of the month too! I guess that is going to be pushed back until after we get this reboot fix.

lol at the thought of Verizon pushing CM7 OTA

Just talked to my friend at Verizon about the latest updates. Looks like the delay for the repair update is the combination of the two. Meaning that HTC doesn't want to have two updates coming out at the same time. So hopefully we get everything at the end of the month.

I think HTC will provide two separate updates. One to fix the reboot and another for the GB upgrade. It makes sense from a tech standpoint. Updating to GB could introduce more variables to the reboot issue, so they will most likely fix that first.

I figure it will come July 6 when they have to send out an update to turn of the free hot spot. I'm thinkin it will all come together. They are to cheap to issue two of them in close succession.

My question is how could they (verizon) tell if your phone is or was rooted and manipulate the warranty to not replace phones when it is so easy to unroot your phone before taking back in to them....

They cant tell it was rooted if you unroot and go back to stock, like it probably wouldnt look good to just unroot but have all the bloat still missing ya know, you wanna reload the stock image, but maybe you have to do that to unroot the tb, i havent unrooted yet
