Motorola has been saying that 2.1 is coming soon since the end of december.
And here I thought that Soon™ was registered to Blizzard/Vivendi... :icon_eek:

I did everything on mine in about 20 minutes total. Just read and follow the directions and it should go great.![]()
So the link previously listed shows an update which says a Motorola Rep confirmed a release of Feb 10th at a Verizon event for the 2.1 release.
We'll i wonder if we will start to see anything else stating this date? Let the countdown begin again?
My guess..... don't count on anything that is in the link. It looks so made up it is unreal.
Enjoy your fully functioning DRIOD at 2.0.1, and if you want some of the "goodies" now, go get the APP's that have been ported and enjoy. There is a working Multi-touch Gallery, Multi-Touch Maps, 5 Home screens and the 3D launch tray.

Is there a list of these ported apps or a place other than the market?
Here is the step by step guide that I used with no problems. It explains things very well for noobs like me. And there are links for simple explanations of terms if you are not fully aware what they mean.

Enjoy guys!
In addition, following this guide will cause official Motorola updates to be blocked. So if a new update comes out, you will need to revert back to a mostly stock phone to get the update or wait for them to re-hack the new update!!!

I notice that using that guide says:

Do you see that as a positive to not be able to receive the OTA updates and if you don't want the updates why?... because you've basically already got everything?.. or do you expect hidden enhancements you may miss if you don't get the OTA?
I do want the overclock abilities just not sure whether to be patient to see if the OTA 2.1 comes out... then I can simply root and overclock... seems the cleanest setup to me?.... but I could be wrong......
Maybe a rooted 2.0.1 with all the 2.1 updates is superior?... any comments?
I know since I have SPRecovery installed that OTA is blocked. But, if your rooted, you should be able to get back to a stock image if you need to.
