Motorola Droid 2.1

I know since I have SPRecovery installed that OTA is blocked. But, if your rooted, you should be able to get back to a stock image if you need to.

But you couldn't get a stock image of 2.1 until someone backed it up and posted it or how?

Wouldn't you be forced to "wait" until 2.1 was extracted and posted by someone so you could manually update to it?

And for those wanting to go back to 2.0.1 "non rooted" so they could receive the OTA update, wouldn't you they have to do it "before" the update attempted to be pushed to their individual phone or can they force it by going to "update" on the droid to receive the OTA?

No you wouldn't have to do it before the update. And no you wouldn't have to wait till it was extracted to manually update.

There is an app called Android System Info on the market which gives a lot of system info including cpu speed and it doesnt require root.

wow that app is amazing!!!! It says we have "sholes" hardware...... this is the coolest App I"ve seen for all the nitty gritty!.... thanks!

This is really bad.Im tired of waiting for an update that isn't all that in the first place.The update is just some bug fixes a new gallery and some live wallpapers thats it.If you want the update ROOT YOUR PHONE.People need to stop posting things that have NOTHING to do with this 2.1 thread and people need to shut up and wait.It cant be much longer because i have read where we should get it in 2 weeks.Motorola is optimizing it for the Droid so it will run smoothly.They are also fixing the bugs and probably adding last minute muti touch.The thread is out of CONTROL and is getting out of hand with outrageous owners who are willing to dump there Droid over a stupid update.Stop leaving bogus questions and wait.

I did everything on mine in about 20 minutes total. Just read and follow the directions and it should go great.

I dont know if this is old but it says that 2.1 is released. Umm im confused.
