Motorola Droid 2.1

:D I overclocked my Droid and I am loving it especially wifi teather.

You big tease! :)

Got to agree with this. I'm also overclocked (@ 950 mhz), wifi teather and running Smoked Glass v 4.0. That rom is slick as anything and honestly has most of the features that everyone is waiting for in 2.1

Its not difficult to root and get these things installed. I did everything on mine in about 20 minutes total. Just read and follow the directions and it should go great. :)

and just because i like beating dead horses.......
a rooted phone alone will not prevent the unlikely yet still anticipated "official" release of 2.1 we are not going to recieve?

Depends on what you did to root it. I believe if you used SPRecovery to root that it blocks the OTA. Not sure about others. In any event, if you are rooted and some kind of official 2.1 comes out, then you can always reload a clean, stock 2.0.1 on your phone and get the 2.1 update that way.

i used the update.zip file that is floating around the most recent threads on this subject, just hope i didnt do any irreversable "reprogramming"

Not sure whats in that update. When I rooted the other day, I followed the instructions here - Installation | Sholes and then I followed the instructions to install Smoked Glass. I know since I have SPRecovery installed that OTA is blocked. But, if your rooted, you should be able to get back to a stock image if you need to.
