To see someone complaining about how their droid sucks and then seeing they have installed weatherbug and other 3rd party apps known to have issues just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside (because my initial thoughts that it's your fault are now confirmed).
I have WeatherBug and I have not seen any issues with it. I also run a bunch of other apps, and so far I have had very little problem with my device.
Let's not slam Trish and say all of her problems are ID10-T errors, or anything of the sort. It's possible she got a string of bad phones, all in a row, all having the same things wrong, each time... and, her husband who happens to be a Senior Linux Systems type-person pronounced that he "wouldn't want this thing if someone gave it to him".... So, yeah, don't be so hard on her, she wants us to start to believe that we have a lousy device, and that it's not worth it.
Reminds me of the threads that show up from time to time in the Camera and Equipment forums on the photography site that I help administer. Someone will post a thread about how they just bought the latest and greatest Nikon or Canon product, and then proceed with tale of woe about returns, malfunctions, etc etc, saying that they bought the camera becauser of it's excellent reputation, but they are having sensor, or auto focus, or lens problems and they have returned the camera, got a new one, and, lo and behold, the same problems are occuring..... Oh yeah, and they always have a friend who is a "camera expert" or "pro photographer" whom they quote as making a disparaging remark, to give their story "credibility"
Look no device is perfect, whether you buy a car, a camera, or a computer, there are going to be some bad ones in the batch, regardless of how high the quality control is, there will be a percentage (albeit a small one) that will have problems...but to constantly moan and say that every one you have gotten was bad, to me that is just odd. I was a computer tech for a few years, I have seen problems caused by faulty products, but in almost every case, a new replacement part solved the problem, I never had an incident where a replacement part was bad....if that appeared to be the case, then we looked for another source for the issue, especially if that part performed well in another system of the same make. In fact it was common practice to reformat/reload a system that was having problems, and add drivers and applications one at a time until we could reproduce the error the customer complained about......
Also, taking it to 3 different places? Please...
You know Trish, your Droid had problems... we get that, and it sucks. I don't know what the problems were, and if they were your fault, or the Droids fault, but to stretch this out and complain, and try to convince the rest of us that our Droids suck, well, that's just beyond the pale.
