The bad news. Moto made official that there is no OTA coming out right now, but the confusing part is that they are also saying that this mystery update that some have stated that they have didn't happen either? They are saying nothing has come out since the Dec update??

Verizon and Motorola say there's been no Droid update after all -- Engadget Mobile

I already have 2.1 so I am not gaining much from an update. I am hoping for some surprises, like Bluetooth voice dial and flash. My Droid is stable but maybe the Droid version will be even more optimized for it.

Been at this for a while on xda and htc phones, waited for 6.1 from att too. had blue angel, tilt, iphone, and blackberrys and no one ever gets it right.

Same old story. Would have been nice for them to deny this though instead of waiting.

I assume no one's received anything yet (today being "the day") otherwise it'd be plastered all in here right?

double facepalm.

1) Can't edit
2) I wrote my post not realizing there were 2+ pages of new posts since the 1st unread I was responding to.

I would not try to loose sleep over it. Not gonna happen, sorry.

Mods should probably even close the thread with final words R.I.P rumored 2.1 update

Yea, I don't believe I've heard the Fat Lady sing yet!

I think you missed her song.

I don't care if it doesn't come today. Like I replied I simply overlooked the 3+ pages of new posts since I last checked back and so I was unaware of the news that had unfolded since then.

Who's to say we aren't going to get 2.1 later though? I mean didn't Moto/Verizon say this a few weeks ago already? Some of your responses seem to take things to the complete opposite argument in that we are not going to get 2.1 ever!

So the fact that it didn't happen on the exact date that some people were SPECULATING that it would come out, means it won't come out at all? Patience people, patience.

It's been confirmed the Droid WILL get 2.1; it's just the date that is in question. And Verizon/Moto/Google/Smuffy The Gentle Yak/etc. have promised NOTHING beyond the fact that 2.1 and Flash 10.1 are coming to the Droid at SOME POINT.

Those articles are not saying that 2.1 is not coming. They're talking about the mysterious "pre-update" that some people have gotten. a quote from one of these articles: "We guess this means we’re headed straight for 2.1 then, right, guys?"

Just be patient guys, it's coming.

I love vista. Its a much better os than xp. Developers didn't give it decent drivers at the beginning so it had a bad rap from the start
It was slow and horrible. 7 is what Vista should've been. XP > Vista and Win 7 > XP

Was never slow for me. I ran it on a pretty sweet (at the time) computer. Only problems I had was drivers, since it was 64 bit. But after a while it was smooth sailing...

Sorry about that if I got the 411 mixed up. Yes there will be one, but this isn't it and we don't won't know when.

I added the links to give validity to the fact that this thread should be closed.

I will wait for the guys cooking up roms to try them out until one suites me.
