Moto Droid Supposedly Getting Froyo on 7/13

Guys we knew the rumor was made up - it was posted on a Droid forum that barely anyone knew.

As far as when - probably end of July.

As far as Verizon waiting because more devices are coming out I've repeatedly said that's a stupid argument. They make money off the plans not the phones. They don't care what you buy.

I just flashed the 2.0.1 SBF then OTA'd to 2.1 and I feel like it's 1989.

Oh, and who knows if it'll happen. We have a guy claiming he's got the update, but I seriously doubt it. If it happens, it'll happen mid-day tomorrow.

I'm torn between keeping my Droid and waiting for the Pro/Rumored HTC Scorpion, or getting the X...this is tearing my brains apart...hopefully we get froyo today.

but you can always root and update yourself instead of hoping random rumors come true

Why not wait for a while You will want what comes out at the end of the year far more than mid summer.

verizon like all companies doesn't care about it's current customers. They are more interested in catering to new customers.

Thats not true at all.....

again for everyone there wont be an update rolling today........ I have been asked not to say more but Froyo for the Droid will not roll out today.

September is wrong also but a good guess................

Geez, you are dumb to go back for a rumor. There has always been a leaked VZ shot of the release notice before the OTA.

VZ actually making it all the way to the release date without so much as one leak at all? Impossible. (I'd be suprised if not, but let's be real here)

The amount of hype is ridiculous. Wait until it hits, then go back to 2.1 for it if one wants.

I remember when 2.1 was coming out. I, like many, un-rooted & waited for the OTA. When it did come, it took me maybe a week to get root access back.

I will not be making that mistake again!

Nevertheless we have our own sources and at the time they did confirm what the other web site was saying. Now things have changed as will happen with updates and it appears August 1, or the week there of updates will roll out. That too could change.
