I have always been an Android fanboy and I have to admit that my attempts with iOS have been annoying and futile. There has been more than one occasion where I wanted to throw an iPhone across the room shattering it into a million pieces, but like most normal people I found within myself enough restraint to keep myself from going bananas. One French man was not able to find the same restraint.

In the video above the man is seen smashing iPhone screen after iPhone screen with a steel ball. He then proceeds to damage some MacBooks that get in his way. He says in the video that Apple did not reimburse him under some European Law "So this happens". The damage is estimated to be in the tens of thousands of dolllars. The man tried to run away but security was able to catch up with him and hold him until authorities arrived. No doubt he will have to answer for his actions and likely pay for the damages.

I have had my own battles with poor customer service, but there are other ways to deal with it. You could simply vote with your dollar and not support companies that don't treat you well. Bad word of mouth can also do more damage to a company than you would think. Going into a store and destroying things really proves nothing, and your audience is more lookiing at you the freak show than the company which caused you harm.

I thought we reported this story last week, sans video. I would've tackled the bastard and restrained him until the cops arrived, not politely escorted him out of the the store. WTH!?
Even if he had a gun in his backpack, there's no way he could've gotten it out by the time he figured out what was going on.
I'm not an Apple fan either, but I'm much less of a fan of people needlessly destroying perfectly good tech. Demo floor models or otherwise. SMDH!

French security sure are nice compared to USA. I used to work retail in major big box store and our door "monitors" were off duty cops. His face would be kissing cement in no time.

Not to mention the surgery to remove the boot from his behind...

He must've talked to me

Edit: Also, that European law he's talking about is consumer law...yeah let's just say it 'extends service and support' for certain claims. There are some countries that require 10 years of working products!

He wasn't hurting anyone, so your best bet is to just stay away. I have my CCW and carry two firearms on me anytime I leave the house, plus a really long knife. I have several holsters for my guns and can hide them inside the waistband of my pants so even a T-shirt would conceal it, a shoulder holster, and even an ankle holster; and no one is ever the wiser that I'm armed to the teeth.

Knowing how easy it is to hide weapons like that, I would highly recommend civilians from engaging in a conflict over inanimate objects. There are a lot of angry, hateful people in the world and being in the wrong place at the wrong time could cost you your life. Definitely not worth taking the risk for Apple's profit margins.

I get your point @Vepaot but NOT doing something could also cost a lot more lives. It's that mentality of "I shouldn't get involved" that costs people their lives.
That's just my opinion though. I don't think there's any right or wrong answer here, it's the world we live in today.

Getting involved over apple product? Only if someone's lives were at stake. Smashing Apple just makes for viral videos.

Most stores have a policy about employees putting hands on crooks and such..dumb as hell..but the idea is to keep the employee safe...thats what I used to do.. security specialist and response..how to handle it quickly and not get a nasty pink letter from HR..
