Loose Charger Port - Repair Needed?

My Droid Pro has developer a loose charger port. I want to get the port fixed which I would gather requires a repair or replacement of the phone. Will I have any trouble getting Verizon to fix this if I bring it in to a store? The phone does not have any other issues and there is no sign of abuse.

Will they care if I have Gingerbread on my phone? My phone is not rooted but I downloaded the Gingerbread release off a link on this site. Was Gingerbread ever officially released for this phone?

Do I need to reinstall the memory card that came with the phone? If they replace the phone are they going to want the original 2GB card back?

Thanks for any help

Is the charger port actually loose (moving around in the body) or is your Pro not staying connected/charging when something is plugged in? I've recently had such a problem staying connected while charging and switching to an OG Droid (Droid 1) charger helped solve my problem...gave it a tighter fit...
