Is Jelly Bean Coming to Bionic and RAZR ?

Since Jelly Bean was announced today, my brother, a RAZR owner, and I, a Bionic owner, have been wondering.. Is android 4.1 gonna come to us too or are we gonna be left out of the loop for a while like with Ice Cream Sandwich?

Personally I doubt it. It probably has a requirement that the Bionic and the RAZR don't have. When I had my OG Droid we went from Eclair to Froyo, but that was it. I haven't seen an phone handle 3 different operating systems.

I wouldn't be surprised either way to be honest.

I've been running ICS for a few days and it wouldn't bother me at all if we didn't see jelly bean. ICS is that damn good!

I'd be willing to bet we don't get Jelly Bean. Especially since Motorola makes more money selling you phones than selling you OS upgrades.

Edit: Now.. if you had bought a Nexus device then I'd think it's much more likely. At the rate the upgrades are being released and the rate they are being put on phones, this is an excellent opportunity for Google/Motorola to provide updates for their phones. If you are one of those looking for the latest and greatest OSes you should consider a nexus type phone where updates are easy to implement.

I for one, will NOT be purchasing a nexus device until Google decides to use a quality manufacturer for it. I've never been big fan of Samsungs build quality.

Say what you will about moto, but their build quality/radios can't be beat!

There's quite a few people that would jump on a Moto Nexus. Will see if they do one with the merger.

I would assume so, but not for a while, especially since they only just are getting ICS now. Probably a developer will get a custom ROM out that will work in safe strap or something like that.

OMG it's taking FOREVER for the Bionic to get Jelly Bean! Do you think the Bionic will get Kit Kat and Lemondrop?

I know right, they have had the dump for all of 12 hours WHERE ARE THE CUSTOM JELLY BEAN ROMS?!?!?!?!?

I knew that there would be at least one of these topics on here (and probably every other board I visit). Be happy that the Bionic is finally getting ICS cause I highly doubt that we will see it in any sort of official release, custom roms are a whole other story.

and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see a Moto Nexus, the stories I have read about the Sammy radio problems are keeping me from getting the SIII or the GNEX

You realize it took 6 months for the gnex to get updated, and that it was/is riddled with bugs.

That's another problem with Samsung, they are insanely show with official updates! The nice thing about nexus devices is that they can be unlocked and don't have to wait for official updates. You can flash updates directly from Google!

I've never liked Samsung phones, they always feel like a toy i should be giving my kids, not a smart phone that I'm paying $500+ to get.
