Is it so wrong that I want an iPad too??!!

Okay. I love my droid. But...still...I'm having gadget envy today!! You?

LOL - I admit I wanted one but I had to end up purchasing a laptop and found the HP Touchsmart tm2 - which is really cool - touch screen (which is what I really wanted from the iPad), virtual keyboard, hard keyboard, swivel screen, display rotation, it recognizes handwriting as a form of input, etc...it doesn't have a DVD drive but I am ok with that...

The iPad looks cool, classic Apple. It has a purpose, I suppose. I just don't really get it. I have my Droid. When it's not enough, I have my laptop. Maybe it has to do with weight, I don't know. Seems to me that a tablet for most people is just overlap. I'm not going to knock anyone for buying one. Well, maybe my neighbor. Says to me that he thinks the Android tablet is superior, and the HP is a better value, but he's buying an iPad. Why? Cuz it looks better, and will impress trainees while doing presentations with it.

I picked one up this weekend and I gotta say it's NICE! I like the idea of not toting my laptop around when traveling or around the house, etc. The battery life on the iPad is very good and best of all having my Droid allows for wifi tethering, should one feel inclined. The iPad also has a kindle application which allows for purchasing books on Amazon and syncs it to your iPad. As for the eye strain I stare at a monitor everyday and I don't feel my eye sight is any worse, so why should the iPad be any different? Not to mention if anyone's ever seen a kindle in action, the page transition is a little annoying due to the e-ink feature.
It's somewhat the best of both worlds! iPad for its big screen when travelling or reading books and the Droid for everything else which I will always have in my pocket.

I like to read for long periods of time in bed.

So do I. I use a book. Portable and never needs to be plugged in. Hey, if someone gave me an iPad, I'd use it, but I wouldn't get it at the current price.
