Tablet vs ipad?

Well i have some offers for an ipad, but im not sure i want an ipad or a tablet? How many different kind of tablets and what not are there? Wich ones are better? I been looking online and they all "seem" good by desription so idk?

I bought 2 gtab's around the first of the year and rooted\flashed both. They are great.
