instructions to restore Acar from evernote

Could someone post step by step, accurate instructions to restore Acar from Evernote. I have been a user of acar for many years but have never been able to restore data when I change phones. I have faithfully backed up my data both locally and to Evernote. Developers instruction or help were nonexistent, FAQ info was a joke. Otherwise app is good and useful
