init.d folder? sd card speed increase...

My main goal was to change the readahead value to 2048 to attempt the sd speed increase ... the scripts to do it require you to put it into the init.d folder (/system/etc/init.d)... which for whatever reason isn't there... i dont know if this is normal or needs to be added...

the program on the market doesn't put the values in the correct folder either... the folder for the sd speed increase on other phones was "179:0" on the bionic it was in "179:32"

any ideas? anyone able to get this to stick full time?
