Image viewer inside text messaging leaves much to be desired

Hello everyone. I'm still breaking in my new droid 2 and am loving it for the most part. One thing does drive me crazy though - the way images inside a txt message are shown.

My wife has an env3 and sends me photos of my kid several times a day. These are low res images that come in rotated 90 degrees. They appear tiny on my screen, and when I turn the phone to correct the image orientation the phone rotates as well.

Is there a way that I can click on a txt message image and have it open in droid photoshop?

I know what you mean, my wife sent me some photo's of a bird she had purchased and it was terribly hard to see.

I don't usually receive a lot of MMS so I just looked at what I could see and fooled around with it a bit. I think there is an option to download. If so it will appear in the gallery. But what you can do with it from there I don't know.

You can of course put the image on a computer and work with it from there.

I'll have to play around with it a bit more next time, I really need to understand myself about what to do with this issue.

Im able to save it, then use either the gallery or my photoshop app, but it just seems overly complicated. Id like to just click on the image and open it up.

Don't turn the phone, turn the picture. Just like if you were going to pinch to zoom. Forefinger and thumb on the pic, turn it like a screw.

OK, I think I'm getting somewhere now.

- tapping the image once opens the text message. Here I see a tiny image and the text from the message. I'm unable to turn the picture of pinch and zoom. Tapping the image again gives me a long pause, then reopens the text message again (essentially doing nothing). pressing the image for a few seconds allows me to view save or share.

- instead of tapping on the original image, if I press it for a few seconds, the view, share, save option comes up, and I can choose view, then an application. I was able to set the gallery as my default.

So, anyone else who's interested, if you want to view an image in a txt message, just press and hold the image, then choose view image from the popup.

I get pix messages all the time. I just tap the pic, it opens in the view and if the orientation isn't correct I just turn it.

EDIT: I forgot, I use handcent not the default app.
