I feel like an idiot for asking this question...

...because I couldn't find the answer in the 59 other threads on this topic  but:

I'm currently running 5.8.894 KIN3TX - if I unfreeze my bloatware, then do a backup via recovery, then do a factory reset, then check & install the 5.5.893 OTA & root again if i messed up 4ever root, then do a recovery restore -- will that keep the OTA .893 kernel & baseband etc, or I can't do a nandriod restore and need to re-flash & re-setup the ROM? (and yes, TiBu Pro is my friend)

Yes, the kernel and baseband from the OTA will be kept intact. You can not change the kernel or baseband on a locked bootloader phone unless the update is signed by Moto. So once you change the kernel or baseband, you are stuck there unless there is an updated version.

thanks for the quick reply mjforte. that's what I thought, but wasn't sure a nan-restore was 100% compat w/ the OTA. thanks again!!
