I'm gonna be pretty pissed if I find out the data price is gonna be different (or we won't be grandfathered in if they raise it) cause then all this waiting would be for not and I could have had my new phone 3 weeks ago
Could be wrong, but pretty sure he means hotspot.

I think we will be locked into the 3G data as long as
we purchase the phone before price increases.
Had a friend with Verizon who purchase an HTC with wifi before Verizon started charging for wifi in their data plan.
He hadee wifi for as long as he had that particular phone.

hahahaha you're funny. VZW doesn't charge for wifi access on their plans. that'd be dumb.

Sent from my Droid X using telepathy

At one time you could get a wifi smart phone with wifi only and no data required.

but they never have charged to use the wifi.

ha, emailed my local vzn guy that i've been talking to since January when I showed interest in the Droid X....didn't really say much....just basically said from what he has seen Vzn usually honors the price at the point of when contract starts, and keeps it, said he's not in a position to talk about future pricing so he won't *whatever that means*.....and he really wants the TB as well, and he doesn't even know when it's coming out, said it's so hard to be patient when you really are looking forward to a phone

forgot to add, he's been really nice about everything, never recommended me for the iphone when I showed interest in the X, kept hinting or pushing toward waiting for the TB or Bionic

its the wifi's and the 3G's man..... LOL

just saw the TB commercial while watching Modern Marvels on The History Channel (interesting one on Tesla)... after I told my six-year-old that was the phone Daddy was going to get, she said "it will be dangerous if it shoots lightning..." I guess I am out!?!?!

"Since then we’ve discovered that while it is a 4G LTE device for data it will still use CDMA for voice."

Not sure I ever got this point before.... am I missing something here? Is this saying that even when I am in an LTE area, I will still be TALKING on a 3G signal?
Yes. 4G LTE is only for data currently. Just recently they made their first VoLTE (Voice-over LTE) call using an LG phone.

So I guess I shouldn't care...

I would presume that once VoLTE becomes commonplace there will be an update sent to the TB. It should be just a software routing of which radio is used to do what
