I just realized something, bear with me here. Look very closely at these 2 Best Buy advertisements. They are both supposed to come out on the same day in the same booklet (Sunday 2/20).

The first link for the Xoom says "Available in-store Thursday, February 24th." The second link says "Motorola Xoom will be featured in the Feb. 20 ad, but can't be sold until Feb. 24, which will be called out in the ad." Also worthy to note is that pre-sale for this device starts on Feb. 17, exactly 1 week ahead of its official release (if this gives us any hint at all as to what will happen with the TB).
The third link for the ThunderBolt says no such thing, and we have seen no similar internal document about the TB like with the Xoom. This further confirms my earlier theory. So unless Verizon makes them change it, expect release at Best Buy on or before 2/20 (most likely before, like the 14th or 17th). I'm definitely going in first thing Monday to see if I can get mine.
So just take my thoughts for what they're worth.

just called my local best buy, said it was supposed to be the 14th but pushed back 10 days, making it the 24th!

Called mine and still saying the 14th
Did you pre-order? I'm in wichita as well =) I ordered at the one on 21st and Rock, "Andrew" the head of phones says the 14th when I called Friday evening. I wonder how many people have actually pre-ordered in our area.

FML. Got curious so I just called mine (Overland Park, KS). Guy talked to his VZW reps there, who said it has been delayed until "the 20-somethingth." Literally. He said for their store, the 14th is a no-go. He has none in stock in the back yet, and has received no paperwork yet, so there is no way they could release it on Monday. I mentioned the advertisement that is supposed to come out next Sunday and my theory, he said my guess was as good as his. I also mentioned how I thought the iPhone release and 14-day return window threw a monkey-wrench into the release of the TB, and he seemed to agree. So, looks like I'm back to being patient until 2/20 or 2/24, seeing as how this week is not gonna happen (at least for me and my store).
Anyone who is still getting answers of the 14th when they call should try to get more details out of the reps (eg. do you have any in the back? are the accessories displayed yet? do you have paperwork in yet? will you sell it before verizon?).

You Wichita, KS guys should both call back tonight or tomorrow and try to get more details out of them. Ask if they have any in stock in the back yet, if they have dummy phones in yet, if they have paperwork yet. If they say "no" to all 3 of those, then Monday is off the table. And aren't you guys on the list of the second round of LTE cities? I'm jealous, because KC probably won't get it until the third round (although our airport already has it), so I'll be stuck on 3G for the first few months of my TB.

WTF! Weird! I just sent that guy selling it a message. On the box, it says "see Merchandising Communication for launch dates." I'm going to see if he will tell me what it says or not. I'll post back in here if he replies to me.
