HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

I just called BB and they are still saying the 24th. I think everyone needs to look at ALL of the sites that are saying the 24th and quit being pessimistic... seriously, all of the ads, stores are saying the 24th, miami and other reliable sources are saying the 24th. It WILL be ok and we will eventually get our phone - I am hoping and REALLY thinking we will have it on Thursday!

So i took back my X last night, I had gotten it the day before the IP4 realease.

They tried to give me some hassle saying i would lose my early upgrade i used to get the X in the first place since i wasnt just exchanging but going back to my OG Droid.

I said i cant wait till the phone releases to return this because it wont be out untill possibly the 24th. The lady looked at me asked me if i was wanting the TB and then said it wasnt coming out Thursday. :r_c:They called corporate and had them reset my account to pre-upgrade times so i could get my early upgrade still.

At least i was able to get them to do that...

Well it's almost noon on the 22nd, not saying it won't be available the 24th, but every hour without something from Verizon makes it look less likely to me. Just hope I'm wrong.

The fact that they issue a press release for the XOOM, but said nothing about the TBolt is a little odd to me to. Do they generally have two seperate press releases for two items launching on the same day? :unsure:

Short of telling you guys that verizon reps got an email last night at 6:15pm saying they will be selling the thunderbolt on the 24th I don't know what to tell you.... Now who knows that could change but I doubt it. Any BB or Vzw employee will tell you they all completed their training for the device last week. If it doesn't come out the 24th then that is something to do with the return policy, not that the phone isn't ready. Hopefully someone on here who works for vzw will post the email. But all it is, is text, which anyone could write.

the date isn't so much my concern... i wanna know what pricing on a 1 yr will be.

Everyone knows the 1 yr price for a phone was traditionally $70 more, but with the 4G device pricing noticeably more, I would also expect a larger price difference to sign a 1 yr. Not to mention VZW is trying to force 2 yr agreements so they don't have to let customers upgrade annually... I expect to see a price gouge for the 1 yr contract.... I sure hope I'm wrong

While that is true, you can say 100% lightning will not strike when its sunny and clear skies.

I cant see this thing dropping this week. The only deadline they need to worry about is the Bionic. If people have that choice they would surely lose some to Motorola. I know I have no willpower to wait, but do wish they were landing on the same day so I could make a better decision. In either case it would be HTC that would lose...not Verizon.

I dont think anyone knows for sure at this point. If it is released this week, the price will be $250 at Best Buy with no mail in rebate. We know this to be the case because the ad said so. If it is after this week, then all bets are off.

I talked to an online rep and a retail store rep today. Neither had any news. I'm assuming SOMEONE in the store at least checks the email each morning... the manager, for instance.

And a screenshot wouldn't be so hard, would it? They could 'shop out the addresses, but out of the HUNDREDS of people (maybe thousands) who got this email, not ONE of them has tipped anyone off? I reserve the right to be skeptical.

Yes it will be 350 in store and you'll get 100 rebate or it could be a 50 rebate and in that case it would be 300 in store. Either way price will be 250 after rebate.
