Let's get back on topic then. This article says that verizon has a track record of announcing phones just days before the release. I think everything is on schedule but they're just letting the Iphone settle in. I bet the CEO of HTC is pissed that they won't announce the release date (rightfully so) and that's why he went rouge this morning and announced that they were being shipped to Verizon this week - effectively putting the ball in verizon's court to finally announce the thing. Don't give up on the 24th yet.

Good point. We didn't see an announcement from him because it is out of his hands, although he did hint it will be very soon. I totally understand why VZW has not given us an "official" announcement of release date yet. They want to sell as many iPhones as possible before the general public hears about this better phone. If they told people the TB was coming out on 2/24 back in early Feb., or last week, how many fewer iPhones do you think they would have sold? A not insignificant amount, that's for sure, as VZW had a lot to gain by remaining tight-lipped. Even with all the Apple fanboys out there clamoring for that device on VZW, there were a lot of people on the fence that probably decided to go with the iPhone because they know about it and it came out first.

For these reasons, even if there is no "official" announcement this week, I will not be worried that it will still release next week. So everyone just keep their pants on. Also, just look at the insane amount of internet buzz the TB has gotten over the past couple months. Keeping everyone guessing is just free marketing, smart move if you ask me. BTW, this thread has never gotten to the level of heatedness that the last ones that were shut down got to.

In my opinion, Verizon has handled this situation very poorly. You have all of us ready to line up to buy this phone, but you won't even let us know when its coming out. Obviously if we wanted the iPhone, we'd have bought one. Just announce the thing already! This is exactly why I didn't want iPhone on Verizon, because I had a feeling they'd cater to Apple and Steve Jobs, and leave Android behind. Sure, they'll still have Android phones, but I can bet they won't promote them like they used to. Almost makes me want to switch to Sprint...except I know Verizon has the superior network.

Uhh I agree with Chris. I believe you already stated you are getting another phone and now you keep trying to convince people that it won't be here until March with absolutely no evidence. Why bother coming back? Some of us actually want to have constructive conversation about the phone and that is about more than the release date.

I guess it just doesn't stick in this forum no matter how many times it gets expressed. folks, this is (in my opinion) an apple legal machine issue. Apple doesn't want anyone returning their shiny new 3G iphone for a 4G anything, so VZW is legally constrained NOT to announce anything 4G for at least 14 days after ihype day. Thats where 2/24 comes from. there won't be any official announcement until the lawyers say there will be.

bingo. thats how VZW has been communicating with those of us who pay attention, don't get sucked into the ihype hysteria, and read between the lines.

It does suck but I understand it from a business stand point. If they release it now I bet a lot of people rethink their purchase of an iPhone. It isn't just about people already having them. Now that they have bought them, VZW wants to make sure that the people that bought iPhones keep them. We are the ones that get screwed by it but I get what they are doing. Oh well, just 9 more days of the Voyager and then...dancedroid

Sorry that is meaningless. In all seriousness the uptime on my Moto Droid's status page right now is 766:15:05. How's that for battery life? I charge my phone every night and power on/off at least once a week, yet that's still my up time. Not exactly reliable.

Exactly. 60 hr uptime does not equal 60 hours of battery life. Nice try BHS, but you might want try again. LOL!

B...bb....bu...bu... but then how will we know when the phone's released? Will we have to be like normal people and wait for an actual announcement and/or phone call from BB saying it's available? Have to stop harassing Black_man_x and Miami for info? Checking this page every five seconds instead of getting actual work done? NEVER!!!!!

Actually though, this thread is 2,861 comments with no relevant information or importance to anyone. The phone will be Good. Later phones may be better but that's why they're coming much later. If u don't like battery life buy an extended battery.

So what exactly make this a "entry level phone"? It's not always about the fastest cpu/gpu, highest resolution, etc. It's how well the hardware uses what it's got, the experience as a whole.

Its got lesser specs than the LG Optimus 2x, the Atrix, the Bionic...
Its taking a step down from the DX, other than the 4g.

HDMI port & slightly higer resolution in the X makes the TBolt a step down? Let me intoduce you to my friend, his name is reality.

Usually if you have LESS features, it is a step down...

And don't say "phones on the horizon are always better" either. The Atrix is releasing what March 4th? That's not "on the horizon", for all we know it could come out BEFORE the TB.

it's a shame what happened to this thread. So what I MIGHT get another phone. Maybe later after the bugs are worked out in may or so I will buy the phone or another phone like it.
At one point this was an informative thread but it quickly went downhill.
