In the beginning it was on yes but he shut it off and turned it back on again. The wirefly one was also used before he unboxed it! lol... Unless it came with all them contacts that he showed!

Am I the only one that noticed that the original unboxing video of the bolt on You Tube the guy was commenting and showed how fast at startup it was I timed it at 8 seconds impressive to say the least! The latest one buy firefly is much much slower!! about the same as my X now this is confusing! The one at firefly was hooked up to wifi and it was not quick!

Yeah the TB has fast boot.. But when you power on from a cold start it takes longer. Just once you get past the first stat up you can use fast boot..

Well on my blackberry when you hold down the power button it just makes it hibernate. The only way to truly turn it off is to pull the battery.

The 800 is the res too.....
800 pixels tall x 400 wide.

The TB is not really that great. Its an entry level phone that has been gifted with 4g to make it more appealing.

So what exactly make this a "entry level phone"? It's not always about the fastest cpu/gpu, highest resolution, etc. It's how well the hardware uses what it's got, the experience as a whole.

Its got lesser specs than the LG Optimus 2x, the Atrix, the Bionic...
Its taking a step down from the DX, other than the 4g.

Entry level? A step down from the X? You are delusional. Everything the X does, the thunderbolt does better. It isnt as impressive as phones on the horizon. But nothing available is ever as good as what is next.

And you know this from actually using the TBolt and testing the battery, right?

Don't get me wrong, you could be correct, that remains to be seen. I just take issue with people dropping blanket statement like that with nothing real to back it up. You're assuming the since the screen is bigger and the battery is smaller the battery life will be worse. Could be, guess we'll find out eventually.

This is a thunderbolt release forum. Open another thread if you would like to discuss this type of thing. Not sure why a droid user would want to troll another droid user.

Plus I'm pretty sure the Snapdragon processor consumes less power resulting in better battery life.

How is it taking a step down from the droid x? It's a 2nd generation processor compared to 1st on the dx, and has 50% more ram, front facing camera and is super lcd vs lcd. No one is saying this will be the best phone for the next 2 years, but when it comes out it'll be the best phone on VZW network. If you wanna wait for the Bionic, go ahead, nothing is optimized for dual core yet anyways and TB has more ram.

I'm sure a week before Bionic gets released, people will say wait for the next phone that will be bigger and better. It's more dependent on when you're due for an upgrade and how happy you are with your current phone than which phone will be the best, because no phone is the best for very long.
