HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

So how come the Palm Pre 2 can come out on the 17th? Yeah I know it's a stretch, but still it's a new phone and you never know, someone could return their iPhone for that, or any other phone for that matter. Apple needs to face the facts. Your iPhone 4 is old. Thunderbolt is new.

Its got lesser specs than the LG Optimus 2x, the Atrix, the Bionic...
Its taking a step down from the DX, other than the 4g.

HDMI port & slightly higer resolution in the X makes the TBolt a step down? Let me intoduce you to my friend, his name is reality.

Usually if you have LESS features, it is a step down...

And don't say "phones on the horizon are always better" either. The Atrix is releasing what March 4th? That's not "on the horizon", for all we know it could come out BEFORE the TB.

it's a shame what happened to this thread. So what I MIGHT get another phone. Maybe later after the bugs are worked out in may or so I will buy the phone or another phone like it.
At one point this was an informative thread but it quickly went downhill.

Play nice guys. I'm getting the feeling that this thread is gone on a bit too long and there are at least 3 other threads on the same subject in the Thunderbolt area.

I am simply stating that if you are going to come in here and make claims like you have, you need to have a link, evidence, an explanation, or some reason as to why your opinion or guess is at least educated, otherwise you will get backlash. All you've done is come in here and say "I'm worried this phone is not coming out soon, I'm think of getting another one now, it's not coming until next month" about a dozen times. We get it. You are the one detracting from the constructive conversation in here by seeking out a desired response. All I ask for from you is some sound reasoning, not unfounded blanket claims (eg. "maybe bugs will be worked out in may"). What bugs? This phone has been tested to death and will run very smooth and fast. Where are you getting May? That's all I'm saying. Now back on topic...

I think most are being nice. Don't lock this thread down becasue a couple people got their feelings hurt when they brought info that was immediately discredited. This thread is a good outlet to vent info and anxiety.

I think the vast majority of these posts have something to do with the Thunderbolt release date, there are a few pages here and there that got off topic, and more recently here when discussion of closing the thread came up. Again, if you arent interested in this subject, there are many other threads on this site to visit. Please leave us be.

"Usually if you have LESS features, it is a step down..." If that's your argument you would have to weight every single feature individually and see which phone scores better. Most people would not put the X and TBolt side by side and think the TBolt is a downgrade by any means.

The Atrix is interesting but if everything I'll read about it is true I don't really see how it's a lot better. The dock feature is kinda poorly implemented IMO (not to mention expensive). If the rumor that 512mb of the ram is only for the dock then it actually has less ram than the TBolt.

Right now dual-core means nothing but bragging rights. As multi-threaded games start coming out and Honeycomb start popping up on phones (how long till we see HC on the Atrix/Bionic? Bet it won't till till end of the year at best) that could change, but for right now it's not really gaining you much (if anything).

The higher resolution screen in the Atrix/Bionic is actually nice, but not nice enough to sway me away for an aluminum unibody HTC.

I've heard the new version of Blur is much improved, but I've used Sense for years and I like it.

You say the TBolt doesn't stack up, I say it does. You're welcome to your opinion, but I'm also welcome to mine. I hope whatever you upgrade to is all that and a bowl of grits, but I'm sure I'll be more than happy with the TBolt.
