When it rains it pours, and right now HTC is getting the whole sky dumped on them. After posting quarterly losses of $100 Million, the battered company is now being hit from another front, a UK court-room. Judge Richard Arnold in London recently issued a sales ban agains the HTC One Mini in the UK because it infringes against Nokia-held patents. What's even worse about this is that is sets a precedent which could issue a similar ban against the HTC One as well.
Right now the judge is holding off on an injunction against that device in order to give HTC enough time to appeal. Apparently, HTC's argument that the ruling would deal "considerable" harm to their company swayed the judge enough to give them some lee-way. We can't really call this much of a "silver-lining," because things are looking really bad for HTC, but at least it's better than nothing.
