They were doing something with the towers in my area a couple of weeks ago that was causing data drops on my s3, I stopped by the Verizon store to ask about a new sim card. The guy said he had been fielding that complaint all day, including the guy right in front of me who was using a Maxx. He said to turn off 4g for the rest of the day and turn it back on tomorrow. The two of us looked for about 10 minutes and couldn't find a way to do it. There may be an app in the Play Store that will do it, but neither of us could find a setting in the stock setup.
