auto connect to wifi

When I turn WIFI off... Why does it automatically connect to wifi? My 4G is faster than my work wifi, so I would rather stay connected on 4g but when I turn on my galaxy s3 OR while using it... It automatically connects to wifi.
How can I stop it from doing that?

Go into settings/wifi/advanced/auto-connect. Make sure that's unchecked. I'm pretty sure that's what causing it to automatically connect to a wife when you have wifi turned off. Hope this helps.

Thank you! I did as you said and it does work... But when I open a web Page, it still connects.
This is so frustrating.

If you have a password.. Go into settings and forget the network, and it can't go on after that without a password.

Turn off the wifi pop up. Should help.


To remove the wifi popup,open the dialer and enter the following code:
*#6335623# this will open "HiddenMenuWifiOffload" menu select
"Disable WifiOffloading" press OK
