Help me out with Overclocking

I have downloaded the Sebastian 1.7 kernel, but it says it requires ICS. Is there a way I can play with OC'ing without having to use an ICS ROM ? I installed Amon RA and made a backup of my system after I HTC DEV Unlocked it, but before I rooted it.

By the way, I dont just always run them as fast as I can. I like to be able to underclock it, when Im at work.

There are some OC kernels for gingerbread over at xda. I am on gingerbread myself, with stock kernel. The stock one seems to run the best for me. I haven't tried many kernels though. I use setcpu to underclock. I have profiles set for screen off and temp.

I agree the stock one works pretty well. The only phone that has put up better Quadrant scores than mine (yes I know Quadrant means zilch, but I use it as a guideline to see if my changes help), is a USCC Galaxy S2 that ran 3370 stock.

Thanks for the tips guys
