When using WiFi Tether from android-wifi-tether - Wireless Tether for Root Users - Google Project Hosting, has anyone else had connectivity issues when using encryption? I spent awhile when I first got my RAZR last month trying to pin down this issue, only to find a shortcut of fixing it by turning off encryption. To clarify: Using the above .apk, enabling encryption allows me to connect for maybe 5-10 minutes depending on data load and signal strength in my area, while disabling encryption allows me to connect indefinitely. I've also replicated this using the stock app and SQLite. This is less of an issue at the moment since I won't be deployed for training for a little while, but later on this could become kind of problematic.
Again: Enabling encrpytion on WiFi Tether apk, stock tether app using SQLite hack, and Barnacle all yield this issue of being disconnected after 5-10 minutes. I'm just curious to see if anyone else has had this issue or maybe even resolved it.
Any ideas?
