No, because I've even tried the camera before loading any apps at all. Dead.

If I had to guess, there was probably a batch of Droids that went out with different camera hardware than the rest, and I'm one of the "lucky" ones who got one. I just hope that Motorola notices this before the official update.

Hi, I had the same exact issue with the camera and leak 2. I just fixed mine, here's what I did. Maybe it will work for you.

Push the CameraGoogle.apk from the FIRST 2.2 leak to SD card

in ADB shell with SU and /system mounted RW

rm /system/app/CameraGoogle.apk
rm /data/dalvik-cache/system@[email protected]@classes.dex
rm -r /data/data/com.google.android.camera
busybox install /sdcard/CameraGoogle.apk /system/app

Reboot

After that, camera works fine (for now)...hope this helps.

Sorry to hear that guys. My camera is at least twice if not three times as fast as before 2.2 I enjoy using the camera now

my camera works. takes pics and functions just fine. But the pics have a purpleish haze to it. think this will fix it??
can you post up a link to the camera.apk your talking about pushing?

2.2 Froyo Release One Camera.

Getting the GoogleCamera.apk from the first release worked for me. Just unzipped the SPRecovery and took it from /system/app and did what R1stang did, and resolved the camera problems. Here is the first release. http://www.mydroidfiles.com/downloads/P3DF-CW.zip

Mine takes great pics AND video... I think both are much better than before...
