Force soft key backlight on

Is there any way or an app that will force the four buttons (home, menu, back, search) to stay lit up constantly, or to force toggle them on and off?

There are a few apps out there but so far all of the ones ive tried dont work for the d2 or d2g :-(

Ive tried lit keys, the tweak in root tools, and another app, i cant remember the name tho. There is one that works, i believe its called leds hack, but the keys stay lit even when the screen is off, and im sure thats not great for battery life so i figured its not worth it.

i tried that one too but with my og d2, perhaps it will work w/ my d2g, i'll try again.
