Facebook Contacts...help!

Does anyone know how to use the Facebook feature on the Droid X without downloading all the contacts?

I use the market app version. Go under my accounts and remove the facebook account and just use the market one. If you want to get the nice little pics that facebook has into your contacts list, there's a decent app called fbsync which will sync all of your contacts to your facebook friends and download the pictures.

One of the options when you set up your Facebook account on your phone was who to sync. From home, hit menu, settings, accounts & sync, and remove your Facebook account. Add it back, and chose the sync with existing contacts option.

When I go to set it up I don't see any "sync with existing contacts" option. In fact, it doesn't give me any options at all during the setup process. I put in my email and password and I'm done. Maybe I'm setting it up in a different way than you did. Can you describe your process?

My bad, its in the Facebook app. Open the app, hit menu, settings, scroll to the bottom, and hit sync contacts. Pick "Sync with existing contacts" from there. Sorry.

That helps Bob! I was connecting to FB with the social networking feature. I didn't realize I needed to download the app. So I have downloaded the app and connected without importing the contacts (awesome). However, hitting "menu" only gets me a refresh. I don't see any "settings" options. Am I missing something there?

I should clarify. When I hit the actually menu button, it only gives me a refresh. I assume when you say "scroll down" that it's a menu on the touchscreen. Again, I don't see anything like that.
