I was looking at various stand/docking solutions for the Motorola Droid and contacted
ezeStand about their product. They sent me a unit to review and I love this stand! I loved it enough that I purchased another ezeStand bundled with a 6ft right angled micro USB cord for work.
My first impression when removing it from the package was that it was simple, clean looking, but I was not sure that this bit of molded plastic was worth the $12.99 price. Yes, I'm cheap when it comes to accessories, especially since I change phones whenever I can, so I think hard about what I spend since it may not get used for long. But this stand is so versatile that I know I can get a good long use out of it and it is well worth the price.
The stand was designed for the Motorola Droid, it has the ability to put the device into media dock mode which works perfectly. It holds the Droid in portrait and landscape mode and even comfortably fits with my OtterBox Commuter case on my Droid. The molded plastic is sturdy but light weight.
But this stand is not just for the Droid! It is cleverly designed with curves and lips that enable it to hold a variety of devices, it has little non slip pads on various places on the stand that enable you to position your phone and have it stay in place for your perfect viewing angle. It will fit most of the larger touch screen phones around today. My iPod Touch fits in it in portrait mode with a silicone skin but not with the bulk of an OtterBox Defender case, but it does hold the iPod Touch in landscape mode with the Otterbox case. According to the ezeStand site, the stand works with the "Motorola Droid & Milestone, iPhone 3G/3GS, Google Nexus One, Blackberry Storm, Palm Pre, iPod Touch, and many more".It even holds my BlackBerry 8330 quite nicely in portrait mode.
ezeStand also posted a nice little video that shows you how to position your your device, focusing on cord placement to prevent tipping and how to position the Droid to activate or not activate the dock mode.
So if you are looking for a stand to hold your device while charging,
watching videos, or even just a secure spot to place it vs. tossing it on your desk check this stand out! I love the fact that this stand should serve me well through several smartphones.
