I charged the phone the day I received it and shortly after I had my FB, Picasa, Email and other accounts set up the bottom 2/3 of the screen started flaking out.
I used google and found out about the screen issue that supposedly 1/10th of 1% of them have.
I am curious as to how many others have had to wait to receive a back ordered unit that turned out to be faulty and then have to wait yet again for a replacement?
They are sending another one and it should be from a batch made after Motorola was aware of the problem.
I am still a bit uneasy about the problems I hear about on this phone. It's my first Motorola smart phone. I have owned and used Motorola radio communications equipment for years. During this time I have found them all to be trouble free and reasonably indestructible out of the box.
I plan on using the otter box defender case when it comes out for the droid x. the defender I had on my Blackberry 8830 when I was in Iraq protected the phone so well that the phone looked like new when I took the case off. The case was so tough that the outside of the case showed no signs of wear.
I just don't want to invest in the case until I know that a glitch and hardware issue free droid x is what I have.
