Deroot question.

Is it possible to use the Stock vzw file that I would use to flash my phone with in rsd as an update.zip and just do it from the boot loader? As in update from zip file? Rsd will not see my phone for some reason and I would like to start over non rooted for gingerbread when it is released.

There is a tutorial somewhere around here that I followed to unroot my D2..ill take a look around to see if I could find it. I know I had problems getting the phone to be recognized in RSD like you, but all will go well sooner or later.

that is a good question. i have a nandroid of stock if you want it. it may or may not help you get back, but it obvisoully is a rooted backup.

if you ever do figure out how to recover from a sbf>zip from the stock recovery, please let me know. ill prob shoot you a couple bucks via paypal if it works for me

Not sure I want to risk it, but it's worth looking into. I'd really like to go back to stock. But I just can't get rsd to see my phone.

you have the newest drivers? and rsd?

make sure your USB is 2.0 also, i hear there are issues with vista and rsd, so i assume they exist in 7 as well.


i have XP




as for the revocery thing, you will still need to have it signed as being from moto. that will be the most difficult part

Pretty sure its all up to date. The phone is deodexed, and running a theme. No roms. But no matter what I do, rsd won't see the phone. And I'm on xp as well.

plug it in while it is in bootloader mode. remove the battery, reinsert it, and power up while holding UP on the keyboard.

it will be black with white letters.

then try to use rsd
