Cleared contacts storage, now having trouble syncing contacts with Facebook

So, like many other souls who have suffered through the "Low memory" notification, I was looking for ways to free up memory. I cleared the contacts storage from "Manage apps" which was 25MB and now I'm fine on memory. I had an ExportContacts app which exported my contacts and then I went to Gmail to convert that file to a vCard file which I then uploaded and now my contacts are back on my phone. However, I can't seem to be able to sync any of them with Facebook. I'll go to edit the contact and link it, but no pictures or Facebook updates/albums will show up. The phone number and emails sync fine but I want everything to be there. When I go to link manually and search through my contacts, it can't seem to pull them up. I don't know what to do next-just reset the Facebook apps or keep restarting the phone until it syncs up?
