Facebook only syncing with some contacts

I've had this issue for a while now, it's odd. Basically, I use the facebook for android app to sync with existing contacts. However, it seems to pick and choose which contacts it wants to properly sync with. I have gone through my contacts and made sure that the names properly match what is on facebook, yet only like 75% of the contacts sync properly, the rest do not at all.

I've tried resyncing FB, uninstalling, etc.

Any suggestions?

if they dont have their number in facebook it is very reluctant to sync with your contacts... back way of doing it if it is a must for you is sync all fb contacts join the ones that need it then change fb setting back to sync with existing contacts

i had contacts not syncing due to a "+"
ie: +1-xxx-xxxx instead of
1-xxx-xxxx

Thanks for the tip! That is very annoying, it used to work fine! I'll try it out though.
