Cannot search contacts by company name. Accidental disconnection of calls.

I just got the thunderbolt, moved from a BB curve. If the answers are somewhere else, please point the way! I can't sync with HTC sync after first time with Outlook calendar, cannot search for contacts with company name, and accidental hanging up on people with cheek. Any suggestions?
