Cannot add contact?

I've been trying to manually add contacts, but they never appear in my contacts list after I press the "Done" button. I'm linked to my GMail account. Is there something about the sync mechanism that makes it not accept new contacts from the device? I can't find any options that would seem to limit me in this way.

Thanks,
Dave

I've been having issues with my droid today. I think there is a problem with Verizon. Once I hit a wifi spot I was able to get my email etc..

I'm not having any functional issues. The network seems to be working just fine. My contacts simply disappear when I add them. I can't figure if I'm doing something wrong or have my phone configured in a strange way or what.

I had a similar issue

I just got the motorola droid 2 days ago, and had my contacts xfered from my razar at the verizon store. I had to setup a new gmail account (that has no contacts in it) to get the droid.

I noticed yesterday that somehow two contacts got combined liz cell and lisa cell. i figured i would just delete them and try to recreate them both. the strange thing is if i add a new contact it works fine. if i add a second new contact it seems to join the two accounts under the same name. these are the only two names i'm seeing this happen with so far. I've tried resetting the phone and it doesn't seem to help.

I'm going to VSW store tonight to see if they can help.

For what it's worth...

I stopped at the Verizon store on the way home from work. They couldn't figure it out, either. They gave me the number for tech support, but I tried something else.

I reset the phone to factory state using the option under "Privacy Settings". Once I got the phone back online and set up my Google account again, everything was fine. So, this time when I set up the Facebook app, I told it *not* to sync FB contacts. Now, I can add/delete contacts all I want. I can only assume that the two different sync systems must somehow collide.

I'm able to edit my contacts in my gmail account and they automatically sync to the Droid. But when I add any info to a contact in the Droid it doesn't seem to sync to my gmail account??????

yeah. i just got back from the vz store and the manager said he's not sure, and he would have to call me back in a couple days after a meeting.

I figured that the FB sync was causing the problem, but I'mnot about to reset everything at this point...
