WOW!! What are you putting on your SD card?

Right now I only have 67 MB free space on my SD card and 61 MB free space on the phone itself. Are there any minimum space requirements that I need to free up before trying this?

I have 8 movies on mine

Wow, what format? I use WinFF to convert my avi files to mp4, choose the android 480 KB/s option, and i have 14 movies on mine, as well as over 2000 roms for NES, SNES and Genesis and still have half of my memory card left. And the movies display beautifully.

i can access alarm clock via beatiful widget by clicking on the time...it has new look too.

i have noticed in landscape mode in the app drawer if you click the home button on the screen it opens an app, but thats minor i can hit the home button on my phone

figured it out, even though you can not see the apps below that are there. the home icon should not be there.

Yes, the new 2.1 "Clock"(Deskclock) is a very cool app, it has been available as an installable app for a while now. Wait until you put your Droid in the dock.. you are in for a big surprise!

Go back 5 pages concerning the "Car Home" you didn't select it on the ROM setup screen. For the alarm open the "Clock" app and then hit the "Alarm" icon, or as mentioned if you are using BW it will open from there also.

miami asked that earlier you are going to have to launch the app again and when you are at the recovery screen you are going to have a list (in blue letters) of tasks. hit enter and car home is on page 2. Also facebook, amazon, and something else from the factory apps is in the list.

What? frankly the stock alarm clock on droid is awesome! perfect even, are you sure it's not there? you may have the one ported from the nexus.

If you install the 2.1 deskclock, the old alarm clock app is removed. Look for "Clock" instead of "Alarm Clock" in the app tray.

New clock has weather how cute lol

Look for an option named "remove car dock" and uncheck it. I'm not sure which menu it's on, since it has been a while since I've installed 1.2. You might want to ask the ROM maintainers (Berzerker and trevorj) about these questions, since it doesn't really have to do with the updater apk.

...de-lurking here. This forum is great...you hand-held me the whole way through the procedure. A few things post-rooting/sholes-ing:

1. I am also have a problem w/FC on landscape mode...like when I put it in the docking station. When bringing the regular homescreen up while in the DS, it will not run the launcher and gives me constant FC. But it's ok (as in no FC) while in the docking station mode. (BTW...like the new look here and also the, uh, "screen saver?")
2. Also in the DS mode...there is no icon anymore in the notifications area for the docking station mode. Minor...
3. And I can't get the weather to show in anything but centigrade format in the DS mode. Tried changing it in the settings, but no go.

yah there's some other minor bugs in 1.2 as well, they should be fixed in 2.0

okay so sorry to be slightly retarded, I downloaded the ROM and everything is fine, however I absentmindedly checked the default home launcher and now everything launches from 2.01 instead of the Sholes 2.1, where do I go to reset this default?

Open the Settings app and go to Applications. Find the home app you set to be the default, and press the 'clear defaults' button in its detail view.

If you reinstall the ROM and remove the home screen you dont want, that will also fix it.

I have the 2.1 laucnher set as default, but I'm not digging the bugginess in landscape. However, I'm not finding it in my list of applications...I go to setting, apps, manage apps and I don't see the launcher app so I can go clear the default. Any ideas?

I just noticed if the phone is in the dock and it is left alone. There is a screen saver.. this is awesome.. its a floating time...
