Anyone seeing the .604 OTA update yet?

I hope root access comes soon cause I will do it just to get rid of all the damn preinstalled apps that keep killing my battery...... Skype and Google talk being the first two to go, then amazon mp3.....

I'm new to the smartphone world but did the update and also want the pre-installed apps to go! I see "root" but have no idea what that is or how to go about it...help! :)

Also, did anyone else notice that after the update when you receive a call, before it rings it annoyingly says "verizon wireless"? Can I get rid of that too? Checked settings and couldn't figure out how to disable it.

Settings.. Call Settings.. Caller ID Readout.. ring Only.

There are threads on rooting, so I won't get into that here.

Well, after unplugging the phone this morning at 9 am, and the damn thing being at 60% by 12:30 without using it at all, I called verizon. They are now sending me a new phone. The phone's charger doesn't always connect and I have to plug it in two or three times to get it to connect, so there's obviously a charging issue somewhere along the lines. All this has been since the update... I got almost 30 hours of battery life, USING the phone before the update... so Tuesday should have the new phone. Doing a factory reset on this one to see if anything helps until Tuesday, but I am definitely sending this one back... what good is a phone if it won't charge correctly? I have tried charging it with the case on, without the case on and neither seems to make a difference. It charges full within 2 hours from a completely dead battery and within an hour and a half from one that is at 10%, when plugged into AC power. The tech at verizon actually started laughing when I told her that after the update I got worse battery.... that's a comforting thought huh? So, hopefully DX #2 doesnt have charging issues. I left the thing on the charger all night last night hoping that might help.... seems to have made it worse..... Anyone else experiencing anything of this sort?

I still have not received any notice of update, and I when I check over wifi it just stays on "checking for available update" and does nothing.

When checking for update on 3g it says "Check for update was not available at this time Try again later."

Been doing this for over a week.

I am in the same boat. Received the update last night. Took it off the charger around 7:30A and now at 2:00P it is less than 15% left. Used it very minimally today as well.
