The Nexus One was the first ever Flagship Smartphone to be released by Google. The phone was the patriarch device in a lineup of awesome devices that were meant to be the standard for all other OEM devices. The Nexus One was released in 2010, three years ago. The Nexus One was a pretty exciting device when it was released. It was sold exclusively on line and sought to change the way that we bought our devices. While it didin't make much of an impact in the beginning Nexus phones are now sold at incredibly reasonable prices, and are unlocked so you can carry them to whichever carrier you like. Now the big four carriers are even beginning to get away from Subsidized prices with Tmobile's financing of phones, and Verizon's edge plans.

If you are still holding on to your Nexus One you will probably be happy to know that while Google has stopped updating this device, developers haven't forgotten about it. There is now a custom Rom for the Nexus One based on Android Kit Kat 4.4 by developer "texasice". The name of the Rom is Evervolv. It includes all of the basics like extended power menu, battery %, volume button music control, trackball wake, and theme manager.

Some custom features include sixbar signal strength, lockscreen dailpad and other lockscreen mods, a switch to turn on off all custom features to give you the true AOSP feel, and a custom updater. Head to the link below for the download.
