so im hoping that besides getting live wallpapers, new gallery design, and new app tray, that they will speed the phone up a little bit and hopefully a better facebook app ( perhaps one like the fb app on the iphone) , and i wouldnt mind seeing youtube redesigned for our phones

I could be wrong, but I don't believe the maintenance app is needed on ALL phones. Maybe something the network detected that was slightly different with your phone and want to get everyone on the exact same build first.

Miami is there a possibility that you can get confirmation 2.1 is starting tomorrow yes or no? Like do you have a source that will tell you yes or no tonight? I guess what I am asking is there an update coming from you tonight possibly?? Because if not I have to stop clicking refresh every 5 min and save some battery. Really really hope tomorrow is the day I wake up with an update waiting.

I had to call Verizon just now because my name is spelled wrong on my bill, and I somehow got connected to the tech support department. So I asked if 2.1 was coming out tomorrow, and after about 5 minutes of searching, the person said she can't find any information on android 2.1 or on an OTA push for the Motorola Droid. So I am not sure if they are instructed not to tell, or she was just bad at using her search tools, or (and i really really hope this isn't true) the update is not coming tomorrow.

I think that tech support is going to get a lot of calls from people that aren't tech savvy about their launcher and gallery, etc. being different. So you'd think that they'd know the night before...

That being said, I really do hope the update comes tomorrow, I've been waking up in the middle of the night because I so anxious for 2.1.

Treat it like christmas when u was a child...just hurry up and go to bed so when u wake up in the morning....u can check ur phone and excitingly click to download.....then call in sick just to customize your phone.
