Here is an early present for you regarding the 2.1 update.

You will have it before the end of February.
 
1/22 and decided to check in to see if anything happened. From the single page of latest post I've just read doesn't appear anything happened.

I have a feeling this waiting room may be here for a while. Specially if they have to do the "push" before the install. Still haven't seen that pop up on my Droid either.
 
Would any of you be surprised if the "information" regarding an early 60.4 meg update going out to everyone were false?

It's strange how these things get started and take on a life of their own.

It's amazing the amount of false information out there.

That is actually not true. There is a very specific reason that 1/22 has been passed around as a date. It was a date published in an internal Verizon document back on 11/09/09, yes, over 2 months ago. Somehow, it has been twisted to be all sorts of different potential updates, but if you read the actual document, you will see what Verizon was "planning" to release on 1/22. Granted, things change, and no one should be surprised that that list changed, but saying that 1/22 is only being used as a date due to wishful thinking is not true. There is a very specific reason for the date.

I feel like we're like waiting out side of Best Buy with blankets and tents a month before the release of the product.
 
Yes the 22nd was mentioned in the document, so yes I understand why people could think that it was coming.

However there has been no recent information confirming that things are on schedule.

I just don't want to see people that need to go to work or school miss time waiting for something that isn't coming today.

It's great when people have the feeling that Santa Claus is coming, but when he doesn't it is a big dissapointment.
